Cakes are simple... I think you need to focus on taste and cost. Most bakeries will schedule a tasting with some of their most popular cakes. They will ask how many guests you expect and make a suggestion on the cake size accordingly.

In different parts of the country , we see desert tables or cookies tables. Some couples opt for a small cake and fill in with homemade pies, cheesecakes or cookies. Some desserts and cookies are ordered from a bakery, some are brought by family members... sharing some favorite family desserts.

The Groom's Cake is always a fun part of the reception. The Wedding Cake is a symbol of you as a couple, the Groom's Cake... this is where we get to know the Groom a little better. Hunting, guitars, golf, and 4-wheelers have been well represented over the years. My husband even opted for a Ball and Chain Cake. Yeah, it was funny, trust me.
